Hello Kitty Island Adventure Tea Garden DLC and Welcome Home Update: What’s Coming in 2026

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is giving us a reason to put our pinky out.

The upcoming Tea Garden DLC brings players back to Merry Meadows for an elegant garden party filled with mysterious invitations, royally-inspired fashion, new recipes and more cabin decor than any of us realistically have room for. I have all of my cabins full... is that bad?

Tea Garden releases on August 6, 2026, and while it is smaller than expansive DLCs like City Town or Wheatflour, it still brings plenty of new stories and collectibles to the island.

What Is the Tea Garden DLC About?

Intrigue has been building around someone on the island hosting a tea party, yet no one knows who the host is!

As the island prepares for the event, players will help My Melody finish her chores, give Pochacco the confidence to dress up and investigate the identity of Kuromi’s secret admirer. Chococat is also quietly planning something and hoping nobody discovers what he is up to before the ball begins.

The story unfolds through reportedly 15 new narrative quests in Merry Meadows, featuring Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pochacco, Kuromi, Chococat and other island friends.

Essentially, it is a very polite island mystery where everyone happens to be wearing a bonnet and we get more items to decorate with as well as two more cooking stations! More on that below.

New Outfits and More Than 300 Variations

Tea Garden fully commits to its fancy garden-party theme.

The DLC introduces 15 new clothing items with more than 300 color and style variations, including bows, bonnets and complete Regency-inspired outfits.

Players will also unlock more than 30 outfits for Sanrio friends and visitors, so the entire island can dress for the occasion. Tally-ho!

New Tea, Scone and Sandwich Recipes

The DLC also adds two new cooking stations: the Teapot and the Tiered Tray.

Together, these stations unlock 38 recipes, including teas, scones and sandwiches. Instead of placing one cake on a table and declaring a cabin ready for afternoon tea, players will finally be able to prepare a full garden party spread.

The exact ingredients needed for each recipe should become clearer once players can begin experimenting with the new stations.

Tea Garden Furniture and Decorations

Naturally, a formal ball requires an entirely new decorating theme.

Tea Garden introduces a new furniture and decor collection featuring pieces such as gazebos, hedge mazes and other garden-inspired decorations. Players will be able to transform visitor cabins into elegant Tea Gardens or bring a little of the Merry Meadows atmosphere to other parts of the island.

This may be unfortunate news for anyone who recently announced that a cabin was “finally finished.”

Tea Garden Release Date, Platforms and Price

The Hello Kitty Island Adventure Tea Garden DLC releases on August 6, 2026 for:

• Nintendo Switch

• Nintendo Switch 2

• PlayStation 5

• PC through Steam

Tea Garden will cost $9.99 on console and PC. The content will be included for Apple Arcade players as part of their existing subscription.

Because Tea Garden expands the existing Merry Meadows region rather than introducing another enormous world, it appears to be a more focused themed content pack. Its emphasis is on storytelling, cooking, fashion and decorating rather than adding another adventure on the scale of City Town.

How to Prepare for the Tea Garden DLC

Players who have not explored much of Merry Meadows may want to continue working through that region’s existing quests before beginning Tea Garden.

This is also a good time to clear out some inventory space and begin collecting commonly used ingredients, flowers and crafting materials. The exact quest and recipe requirements have not all been revealed, but Hello Kitty Island Adventure has a habit of suddenly making the one material you stopped collecting extremely important.

Decorators may also want to decide which cabins are about to receive a Tea Garden makeover. With hundreds of clothing variations, new character outfits and a complete furniture collection arriving, storage organization could become its own unofficial side quest.

Something Is Brewing in Merry Meadows

Tea Garden may not introduce another massive region, but it looks like a charming addition for players who enjoy the quieter and more creative side of Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

The combination of character mysteries, formal fashion, afternoon tea recipes and garden-party decorating gives the DLC a distinct identity without trying to repeat what City Town already accomplished.

Wait a minute... this just in...

Just when we thought Tea Garden was the whole story, Sunblink revealed that something much bigger is also on its way.

Welcome Home is an upcoming free major update centered around new home-related features and customization. The complete update will arrive with Version 3.0 in fall 2026 for PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation.

Apple Arcade players will not have to wait quite as long to see what Sunblink has been working on. Some Welcome Home features will begin rolling out early through Version 2.18 on August 6, alongside the Tea Garden DLC. Another group of features is scheduled to follow with Version 2.19 on September 16, before everything comes together in the full Version 3.0 release.

Sunblink is still keeping most of the roadmap covered in question marks, but it has already revealed the first major feature: Creative Mode.

A First Look at Creative Mode

Creative Mode will give players access to a special terminal where they can design a dream cabin using almost anything available in the game.

Inside the mode, players will have an infinite inventory along with access to their custom flowers and foods. That means you can experiment freely, try new layouts and see whether twelve different furniture collections can peacefully coexist in one cabin without using up your actual supplies.

There is one especially interesting line in Sunblink’s announcement:

“Now if only you had a way of bringing those designs to the rest of the island...”

That certainly sounds like a hint that Creative Mode designs may eventually be saved, shared or transferred into regular cabins, but Sunblink has not officially explained how that part will work yet. For now, it is best treated as a very deliberate tease rather than a confirmed feature.

What Else Is Coming With Welcome Home?

At the moment, Creative Mode is the only Welcome Home feature Sunblink has fully introduced.

The release schedule shows several additional features planned across Versions 2.18, 2.19 and the full fall update, but their names remain hidden. Sunblink has described Welcome Home as being filled with home-related features, which suggests that decorating and cabin customization will be a major focus, although the rest of the details are still under wraps.

Sunblink also confirmed that Content Update 8 will still arrive before the full Welcome Home launch. That update will bring non-Welcome Home Apple Arcade content to the other platforms, helping PC, Switch and PlayStation players catch up before Version 3.0 arrives.
